Causes and Prevention of Alzheimer's

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common type of dementia in older people. Dementia is a brain disease that severely affects a person's ability to perform everyday activities. The same associated problem, mild cognitive impairment (MCI), causes more memory issues than in common for people of the same age. Not everyone, but most people with MCI develop Alzheimer's disease. Over time Alzheimer's disease, signs turn worst. Individuals may not remember family members and may have difficulties speaking, reading, or writing. They may forget how to brush their teeth or how to comb their hair.

Later, they may become anxious or aggressive, or they may wander away from home. Eventually, they need to have total care. This can create a lot of tension for family members who need to take care of them. Alzheimer's disease starts after 60 years of age and the risk increases as you grow older. You could be at greater risk if a family member has a disease. No therapy will stop this disease from progressing. However, they are some drugs that help keep symptoms from getting worsen for a limited time.

Although causes of Alzheimer’s disease aren’t completely understood, two major factors that are often cited in its progression are plaques and tangles. Patients of Alzheimer's disease have these symptoms at an early stage. Although there are no cure spotting symptoms of dementia and seeking help early can make all the difference when it comes to handling this condition. Memory loss is a frequent example of its symptoms. Neuropsychologist Kelly O’Neil enlisted other areas of problems as well.

Dementia Problem areas:
Their Short term memory
Aspects of their long term memory
Receptive Language
Ability to understand things (written or verbal communication)
Expressive Language
Communicating thoughts

Alzheimer's disease is also considered the 6th leading cause of death in the United States of America. Alzheimer's disease cause neuronal cell dysfunction, shrinkage of brain tissues, it also leads towards progressive cognitive-behavioral and motor impairment, and ultimately death. Alzheimer's disease is linked with the accumulation of senile plaques & neurofibrillary tangles in the brain. Alzheimer's disease can be correlated with a number of plaque accumulated and disease severity.
